I grew up in Commerce, Michigan spending the first half of my life enjoying everything that Commerce and the surrounding areas offer; the intimate sense of community, the many lakes, and the expanses of woods and parks. As an adult, my educational pursuits took me to New York City, a sharp contrast to the ease and peace of the Midwest. New York was bustling with people and bursting with life. It was there that I became a special education teacher. As my career grew, I began coaching other teachers on how to succeed in the classroom and how to help teams of teachers work together to improve their schools. This experience was an inspiration and guide to how The Stonway Group functions today.
After returning to Michigan and becoming a realtor, I soon realized the benefits of working with a team in real estate to better serve my clients, friends, and family. A group of us developed The Stonway Group in 2016 and we have been growing steadily and collaboratively ever since. As a group, we aim to change the face of real estate in our communities because of the unique way that we serve individuals and families. We use down-to-earth guidance, compassion, and technology to protect our clients' assets just like they are our own. For us, it is more than a transaction.
Feeling the need to serve communities who need more help and guidance, I began specializing in senior real estate as a Senior Real Estate Specialist. It is extremely fulfilling to help our clients and their families during some of the most complicated transitions of their lives. We have been lucky enough to create close relationships in this space and connect our families through our referral network at howtohelpmom.com.
My fiance (a carpenter) and I live in Ferndale and enjoy working on growing our real estate investment portfolio. Though it may seem like work to some, we love it and we know that we are lucky to have found a partner who also lives, eats, and breathes real estate. We have found that our experience in this arena has helped guide our work with investors and the LGBTQ community.
When not "real-estating" I can be found at my weekly family dinner nights, traveling, drinking wine on the porch, killing (unintentionally) my garden, and cuddling with my grumpy cat, Baby Dad.
